GERRISH MATCH

  • Date: May

  • 20 shots for record + unlimited sighters 30 Minutes total time.

POPE MATCH

  • Date: June
  • 200 Yard Off Hand, iron sights Black Powder (Cartridges Allowed)
  • German Ring target
  • 20 shots for record + 2 sighters 30 Minutes total time

DAVIS CUP *

  • Date: July
  • 200 Yards Standing to Sitting, iron sights Military (.223 or larger)
  • NRA SR Target
  • 10 shots (with Magazine Change) + 2 Sighters 60Seconds for Record

MRA WWII Memorial 3 Gun Tournament *

  • Date: July
  • Stage 1 @200 yards: M-1 Garand / Off Hand / Slow fire / 20 rounds + 2 sighters / SR target
  • Stage 2 @100 yards: M-1 Carbine / Off Hand / Slow fire / 20 rounds + 2 sighters / SR-1 target
  • Stages 1&2 block time of 25 minures.
  • Stage 3 @50 feet: 1911A1 Pistol / Gallery / Slow fire / 10 rounds + NO sighters / B-2 target
  • Stage 4 @22 feet: 1911A1 Pistol / Gallery / Slow fire / 10 rounds + NO sighters / B-3 target
  • Stages 3&4 block time of 2 minutes. Magazine change required. Pistol can be any 1911A1 out of the box configuration.

CREEDMOOR CUP

  • 20 shots for record + 2 sighters 22 Minutes total time

John C. Garand / CMP M-1 match *

  • 25 shots for record 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

ANNIVERSARY MATCH

  • Date: November
  • 200 Yards Off Hand Any sights Any Center Fire (.223 or larger)
  • German Ring Target
  • 20 shots for record + 2 sighters 22 Minutes total time

Matches denoted with a * are open to all qualified competitors but only members of the MRA will be eligible for medals / awards.

[b]ALL 200 yard matches commence at 10:00 AM on the MRAs 100/200 Yard Range and competitors must sign up in the MRA office in advance (same day registration is acceptable). Weather delays or cancellations are at the discretion of the Match Director. Initial entries are $5.00. Re-entries are $5.00 and are limited to one (2). A re-entry will VOID the competitor’s prior score(s) of that day. All MRA Range Rules will be observed during all matches.


Eastern Massachusetts High Power Rifle League

The MRA generally fields three teams (two in the morning and one in the afternoon) for the ERML. This is a series of 3 matches held each spring at The Woburn Sportsman's Club. MRA members who are interested in joining one of the teams should contact MRA Director John Chalmers or inquire in the office.

 

  • Matches are held the first 3 Saturdays of May each year.
  • Teams consist of 6 persons per team. Each team is allowed 2 hrs 18 min to complete the course of fire.
  • Matches consist of 22 rounds (2 "sighter's" and 20 shots for record) fired slow fire at 200 yds offhand only (standing position)
  • Any center fire rifle may be used. AR-15's M1, M1A's and .223 and .308 bolt action rifles are common.
  • Iron sights only (scopes allowed for competitors 60 yrs old or older).
  • Shooting coats and gloves are allowed but no slings.
